Dr. Mayra Carlos Lazo is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centred psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children. Her approach integrates evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), within a warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive space. Dr. Carlos Lazo works closely with each client to foster emotional well-being, improve coping strategies, and support a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Dr. Carlos Lazo has a strong background in psychiatry and sleep medicine, having completed her medical degree, psychiatry training, and a fellowship in sleep disorders at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she is board-certified. While she is not licensed to practice medicine in Canada, her medical training informs a deeper understanding of the connection between mental and physical health, including the role of sleep in emotional well-being.
She holds a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto and is completing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She has additional training in couples therapy, addictions, and psychotherapy modalities.
With experience living and working in both Mexico and Canada, Dr. Carlos Lazo provides psychotherapy in both English and Spanish, offering culturally responsive care in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
